A little about me…

Hello! My name is Suzanne and I’m from Scotland, although I have lived in Verona in Italy, for almost 7 years now.

My love for photography started when I was young. I was introduced to my first toy camera by my grandad (that’s us in the photo on holiday in Spain together) before he taught me how to use a “big girl” camera - as he called it - many years later. This would be his Olympus OM10 film camera — one I still cherish and use to this today. Then after a few years, in high school, my incredible art teacher encouraged my passion, allowing me to use the same film camera to contribute to projects in my coursework. As part of my final year exam, I had the opportunity to develop my own film photographs, an experience that solidified my desire to pursue photography further and after I left school.

I went on to study Photography at the University of the West of Scotland in Glasgow, where I spent four years refining my skills. Many of my courses focused on shooting 35mm film, both in colour and black and white, along with the full developing process. After graduating with a BA Hons in Photography, I moved straight into a commercial photography role in London, where I lived for 5 years, turning my passion into a career.

When the chaos and impersonal feeling of London became too much for me, my partner Matteo and I picked up our lives and moved to Italy. Specifically, Verona, where he was born and raised. Moving to Italy reinforced my love for photography in ways I never could have imagined. Walking through the streets of Verona, I find endless inspiration in the light, the architecture, and the everyday beauty that surrounds me - I am still in awe of it, after 7 years.

Every corner of this city tells a story and capturing those moments, whether it’s a intimate embrace of couple on a sun-drenched piazza or the laughter of a family exploring many of the hidden cobbled streets, feels like pure magic. But what I love most is meeting new people, hearing their stories, and preserving their memories with personal photos. Photography has always been about connection for me, and in Italy, my passion has only grown stronger.
